First 4 Official Entries to the MMFF 2019 announced
The first four official entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2019 have been announced by the festival’s committee on Wednesday. The entries that got in were chosen based on script.
The first one was Kampon, a horror movie starring Kris Aquino and Derek Ramsay. The movie will be directed by King Palisoc and produced by Quantum Films.
Kampon will be Kris’ comeback to horror films, after Feng Shui 2, which was also a MMFF entry in 2014.
It will also be a reunion movie project with Derek after the MMFF 2015 entry, All You Need is Pag-ibig.
The second official entry to MMFF 2019 that was announced is Miracle in Cell #7. The movie stars Aga Muhlach and Nadine Lustre, directed by Nuel Naval under Viva Films.
The Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza starrer, Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity, was the third official entry this year. It will be directed by Linnet Zurbano under APT Entertainmenty, Inc. and M-Zet Production.
Vic and Maine also starred in the MMFF 2018 entry Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles which earned an estimated P370-million.
The last of the announced first four official entries was Momalland, starring It’s Showtime hosts Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis. Directed by Barry Gonzales, the movie is a joint venture between ABS-CBN Film Production, Inc. and Viva Films.
Vice’s entry to the MMFF last year was Fantastica, which earned a reported P596-million.
