The result was announced during the pageant’s sashing ceremony on September 8. Nigeria received Best Physique, while Thailand won Best Talent. Bonifacio remains in contention for the main Mister Cosmopolitan crown, which will be awarded on September 14.

Philippines makes an early impact

Bonifacio’s national-costume victory gives the Philippines early momentum in the international competition. His presentation highlighted Filipino identity as delegates showcased their respective countries before the main rounds of competition.

The sashing ceremony also formally recognized the candidates representing their nations at the fourth edition of Mister Cosmopolitan.

Another early award went to Allain Joshua del Rosario of the United Kingdom, who was named the Mister Impactful Award winner after voting conducted through Eventista’s 1Vote platform. Bonifacio also competed for that distinction but did not win the category.

The Mister Cosmopolitan 2026 schedule

The pageant’s official program includes arrival activities, registration, fittings, photoshoots, interviews, cultural experiences and tourism-related events. The candidates have also taken part in official swimwear and national costume photo and video shoots.

From September 9 to 11, the delegates are scheduled to visit the Bau Trang–U&Me Tourist Area as the competition moves to Mui Ne. The journey will conclude with the grand final on September 14.

Vietnam’s Voice of Vietnam previously reported that the final was expected to be staged at the Do Theatre in Nha Trang. However, readers should watch for a final venue confirmation from the Mister Cosmopolitan organization.

Who is John Eriq Bonifacio?

Bonifacio earned the right to represent the Philippines through Mister Pilipinas Worldwide 2026, the national organization that assigns Filipino representatives to several international male pageants.

His international campaign follows a strong showing by the Philippines in the previous edition. Kenneth Marcelino finished as first runner-up at Mister Cosmopolitan 2025, behind winner Shawn Lin Yu Hsiang of Taiwan. Marcelino also won Best National Costume, making Bonifacio’s victory the Philippines’ second consecutive win in the category.

Bonifacio will now try to continue that momentum and potentially secure the Philippines’ first Mister Cosmopolitan crown.

A fourth edition focused on character and brotherhood

Mister Cosmopolitan 2026 carries the theme “The Gentleman with a Noble Heart.” Beyond physical presentation and modeling, the competition promotes friendship, cultural exchange, social responsibility and brotherhood among its international delegates.

Organizers are using this year’s activities to showcase Vietnam’s coastal destinations while giving the contestants opportunities to present their national identities and personal advocacies.

With the coronation approaching, the next developments to watch are the remaining preliminary and challenge results, the semifinalists and the final placements. Bonifacio will attempt to convert his early award into the Philippines’ first Mister Cosmopolitan crown.
