Mister Tourism World 2022 Martin Machinena of Uruguay failed to attend the male beauty pageant’s 2023 edition which was recently held in Brazil, thus, he failed to do the traditional farewell walk and passing of the title.
Martin won Mister Tourism World 2022 in the Philippines. During his reign, he went around the world, especially to attend the national finals of MTW franchises.
On the last day of his reign, however, he wasn’t where he was supposed to be. It should have been his last assignment – to pass on the title.
But what could have happened? Martin took to social media to explain himself.
According to a message he posted on Instagram, he had blocked his work schedule for the pageant and his luggage had been ready since November 21, but his plane ticket never arrived.
“I have fulfilled and continue to fulfill all my obligations established in the contract with the organization, and I am still waiting for a response or explanation for this matter,” he wrote.
Thailand’s Knot Thiraphat was named Mister Tourism World 2023 on Sunday night in Brazil. His first runner-up was Jether Palomo of the Philippines.
