Will Miss Universe 2021 get affected by new CoViD-19 Omicron variant?

Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez left the country yesterday for Israel where the Miss Universe 2021 pageant will be held. Delegates from other countries have started departing for the host country as well, but will the newly-detected Omicron variant of CoViD-19 affect the number of contestants joining this year?

News regarding countries, including Israel, closing borders have been reported today. Some countries even gave more specific restrictions, banning travel from the southern Africa.

In the Philippines, travel ban covering South Africa and Botswana is effective immediately, while the ruling for Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique will start November 28th.

Will Israel allow delegates from south African countries to enter their borders for the sake of the scheduled Miss Universe 2021 pageant?

Meanwhile, Puteri Indonesia has released a statement earlier today stating their non-participation in Miss Universe 2021, citing time constraints and local CoViD-19 restrictions as reasons.
