If there’s someone I like in this batch of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids 2018, I must say it’s Esang De Torres.
While she doesn’t have the vocal range of TNT Kids, the charm of Chunsa Jung or the dancing abilities of the other girls, Esang is the one who takes what is given to her very seriously.
Her latest transformation in YFSF is to become the 80s icon Cyndi Lauper, and although she was not yet born during the American singer’s stardom, she was able to give a performance that would give you goosebumps (if you know who she’s impersonating, that is).
The show’s voice coach Jed Madela even cried during the number because, according to him, he got caught in the moment.
Judge Nyoy Volante described Esang’s performance as excellent.
“There are many times in this competition na you guys do very well, but there are those rare moments when you do it excellently and that’s what you did,” Nyoy told Esang.
Esang’s other “transformations” in the past weeks included Lady Gaga, Cher, Lea Salonga, John Legend, Christina Aguillera and Jake Zyrus.
