Miss Mexico Andrea Meza was named Miss Universe 2020 on Sunday, May 17th (Monday morning in Manila) during the beauty pageant’s coronation night that took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Andrea Meza, 26, beat Julia Gama of Brazil, who was named first runner-up.
Miss Peru Janick Maceta was named second runner-up; third runner-up is Adline Castelino of India; while fourth runner-up is Kimberly Jimenez of Dominican Republic.
Miss Philippines Rabiya Mateo made the Top 20 but failed to be called after the swimsuit round.
Another crowd favorite Miss Thailand only made as far as the Top 10.
Meanwhile the usually strong Venezuela failed to make it to the Top 20. Colombia, on the other hand, had the same fate as Philippines. She also only made it to the Top 20.
