Kokoy De Santos, Elijah Canlas and Adrianna So are on the covers of Rank magazine’s The New Mainstream issue. Dubbed by fans as the Gameboys Power Trinity, the three talked to the mag about their “culture-altering journey… to the Filipino consciousness” via the pioneering Boys Love (BL) series, Gameboys.
The series’ first season was a hit when it was released on YouTube last year during the first few months of quarantine in the Philippines. It was later became available on Netflix.
Then came Gameboys The Movie which became record-breaking. The pre-selling of tickets alone became a hit as it was declared sold out in record time. It was even declared as the fastest selling movie on Ticket2Me.
The movie was released July 30th and the views, even on its 2nd week, was still phenomenal.
News has it that a second season of the series is in the works, and the fans are excited.
Even if there’s a lot of Pinoy BL series that has come out after Gameboys, the first one will always have a place in our hearts, not to mention the one with a well-developed storyline, good actors and excellent production.
Can’t wait.
