A magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit the province of Quezon Friday afternoon, September 13, 2019.

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the earthquake at exactly 4:28:16 PM with epicenter located 39 kilometers (km) northeast of Burdeos, Quezon.

The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 62 km.

Less than an hour after, an aftershock with a magnitude level of 5.1 hit the same area, this time at 34 km northeast of Burdeos. It had a depth of 11 km and was also tectonic.
