Misters of Filipinas 2024 is nearing its coronation night, and as the candidates engage in more activities leading to the main event, we get to see who among them really deserves to win.
The recent event that the 29 candidates were seen in was the Festival Kings competition where they showcased the festival of the respective places they were representing.
The Top 10 Festival Princes were announced after all the 29 candidates performed.
The first one to be called into the Top 10 was Aian Abad Santos of Angeles City, Pampanga. He wowed with his dancing skills while showcasing the Feast of the Guardian Angels. His ballet moves were superb he was even better than his backup dancers.
I just love it when the candidates are really prepared, and you would know their level of preparedness while they’re on stage.
Aside from Aian Abad Santos, the most prepared candidate for me was John Kenneth Latayan of Lipa City, Batangas. His production number was well-rehearsed from start to finish, you could hear the audience clapping at the end of his performance.
John Kenneth Latayan paid tribute to the iconic Metropolitan Cathedral of San Sebastian, Lipa City, and his presentation was complete with drama and costume changes that he really deserved the Top 10 spot. He was the last to be called into the Top 10 which he tied with Laoag City.
Speaking of Laoag City’s Joecaner Orap Jr., I loved his all black costume. It was “inspired by the industrious Ilocano farmers,” but the color spoke like it was the death of farming in his province.
The performance was like mourning the scarcity of farmers and the dying trend of farming nowadays. The reason could be political, but then again this is a pageant post.
Meanwhile, Las Piñas 1st district Alei Del Rosario’s costume was majestic with all those golden wings made of water lillies, paying tribute to the city’s Water Lily Festival. He was the 9th to be called along with Zambales (it’s a tie again).
Gian Antonio Guidicelli of Cebu City did a Sinulog-inspired presentation and his smile was so infectious.
Miko Santos of Pampanga’s lively performance to the tune of Atin Cu Pung Singsing was lovely. He wore the giant lantern midway into his performance and it was reminiscent of Catriona Gray’s national costume during the Miss Universe 2018 pageant.
Speaking of lively performance, Manila City’s Jestoni Matic was very energetic as he danced to the tune of the 70’s hit, Manila, by Hotdog. He had on a jeepney-inspired costume, complete with a curtain of sign boards on one arm, and a traffic light on the other.
