Teresita ‘Winwyn’ Marquez from the Philippines was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Manila time), besting more than twenty other Latinas for the title.

Winwyn is the first-ever representative of the Philippines to Reina Hispanoamericana.

She’s the only non-Spanish speaking contestant but she nailed the interview when she was asked about language barrier. She said that language can be learned but the desire to serve cannot. She also mentioned that love is the universal language.
