ABS-CBN’s Your Moment has named its first-ever grand champions during the talent show’s finale on Sunday, February 2, 2020.
The rock-reggae band Juan Gapang, led by former The Voice of the Philippines contestant Kokoi Baldo, was named the Grand Singing Champion.
Their rendition of Tatsulok (originally performed by Bamboo Mañalac) gave a very timely message with lines like “huwag kang magpagabi, baka mapagkamalan ka’t humandusay d’yan sa tabi,” and “hindi pula’t dilaw ang tunay na magkalaban.”
Juan Gapang got a score of 97.22 percent, versus the Verse Band’s 87.22 percent.
By the way, there was a 1986 movie titled Juan Gapang that tells the story of a man searching for his destiny while crawling the streets during the EDSA Revolution.
Meanwhile, the Kenyo Street Fam of Bulacan was named Your Moment‘s Grand Dancing Champion with a score of 97.22 percent. It was very close to Fabulous Sisters’ 96.11 percent.
Kenyo Street Fam danced to Bone Thugs N Harmony’s Crossroads.
Both champions got 2 million pesos each along with respective contracts with ABS-CBN.
Your Moment is hosted by Luis Manzano, with Billy Crawford, Nadine Lustre and Boy Abunda as judges.
