Barbie Forteza and David Licauco star in Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune, an upcoming Kapuso series from Regal Entertainment, Inc. Mano Po is the well-loved movie franchise that focuses on the lives of Chinese-Filipino families. The first 6 movie instalments were official entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). The last one, Mano Po 7: Chinoy, was released 2 weeks earlier than the MMFF last 2016.
Regal has just released teaser character videos of the upcoming TV series which will start airing January 2022. Boots Anson-Roa, Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan and Sunshine Cruz are among the veterans included in the main cast, but I guess the primetime series will focus more on the love story of Steffy Dy (Barbie) and Anton Chan (David).
I’m also excited for Rob Gomez’s character, Joseph Chan, the illegitimate eldest son. I first saw him in A Girl and A Guy on Netflix and I want to witness how he will portray this character in Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune, which is very different from that movie one I saw him in.
Also in the series are Nikki Co, Dustin Yu, Casie Banks and Darwin Yu.
