Mister Grand Philippines 2024 held its “final screening and grand callback” on Sunday afternoon, and the event concluded with the announcement of the first set of official candidates this year.

Seventeen good-looking young men were named from the Luzon leg of the screening at the Wesfame Suites in Diliman, Quezon City.

They will represent their respective municipalities/provinces, and will eventually be joined by candidates from other parts of the Philippines and select Filipino communities abroad.

Zandro Sales from Mandaluyong already looked like a winner with his look. He also speaks well as he (according to his Instagram page) has undergone several hosting trainings in the recent past.

His physique and his charm looked promising as well.

Jonas Harina (aka Jayden Fernandez) of Quezon Province was also a stunner. He’s a live seller for Bench, the brand he recently walked for in its recent fashion week, that’s why you may find his face a little familiar.

I find his thigh a little shorter than what could be called proportionate, though. Or was it because his thighs are very muscular?

Jerricho Ponce of Silang, Cavite, meanwhile, may also look familiar because he’s Ginoong Pilipinas 2023 1st runner-up, and well, has a very popular actor brother (Jerome).

Martin de Leon of ParaƱaque City also attended the screening for Bench Body of Work just like Jonas and Aljhay Dado of Zambales. He studied at San Beda College Alabang and currently owns a gourmet food brand.

Aside from Zandro, Jonas, Jerricho, Martin and Aljhay, those who also made the first batch of official Mister Grand Philippines 2024 candidates include Mark Joseph of Caloocan City; Matthew Louie Arboleda of Cagayan De Oro City; Tranx Risch of Taguig City; Carl Joseph Abueg of Olongapo; Kenneth Cruz of Arayat, Pampanga; Albert Decio of Marikina City; Roland Capuz of Laguna; Paul Francisco of Bulacan; Marky Santos of Porac, Pampanga; John Capili of DasmariƱas, Cavite; Zyrus Fortes of Santa Rosa, Laguna; and Daniel Paulo Elumba of Silang, Cavite.

I wonder what happened to Than Perez, RJ Patajo and Itan Rosales who attended the Metro Manila screening last August 8 at El Tubo Cafe and Restobar in San Juan City.

Did they not meet the judges’ standards, or did they choose not to continue with the pageant?
