The full trailer of The Promise of Forever was released by ABS-CBN on Friday night. The upcoming television series stars Paulo Avelino, Ejay Falcon and Ritz Azul. Produced by Dreamscape Entertainment Television and directed by Darnel Villaflor and Hannah Espia, it premieres on the Kapamilya network this September.
Paulo plays the role of Lorenzo, a 150-year-old man who doesn’t age physically. The trailer shows him in 1885, dying, but was brought to life by a lightning strike.
In present day, he falls in love with Sophia, a girl he met once when she was still a child. Would their love story have a happy ending, or will she become instrumental in one man’s wish to study Lorenzo’s condition?
The plot of The Promise of Forever reminds me of the 2015 movie, The Age of Adaline. Played by Blake Lively, Adaline was also brought to life by lightning and did not age since.
