Filipino singer Alisah Bonaobra impressed the judges of The X Factor UK with her rendition of Beyonce’s hit song, Listen, during the auditions.
The sidewalk vendor from Manila flawlessly hit the high notes of the song, earning her 4 yeses from the judges.
According to Alisah, she joined the competition because she believes her talent is world class and that she wants to make the Filipino community in the UK proud.
Judge Simon Cowell disn’t want to lie to Alisah and said that hers was not the best version of Listen that he’s heard. However, there’s something in her that he really liked.
Judge Nicole Scherzinger, meanwhile, cried as she remembers her humble beginnings through Alisah.
Before X Factor, Alisah became an online sensation when a video of her performing Let it Go at a videoke machine in Robinson’s Place Manila went viral in 2014.
She eventually joined the 2nd season of The Voice of the Philippines (2014-2015)and became a finalist. She, however, lost to Jason Dy.
She also joined Eat Bulaga‘s Just Duet and also became one of the finalists.
