Erik Lennart Visser of the Philippines won Mister Universe Tourism 2023 during the pageant’s finale that was held in Bali, Indonesia Sunday night. He was crowned by 2019 winner Tor Surasak.

The Filipino-Dutch model bested seven other candidates from different countries with his good looks, well-toned body and intelligence. He was also the tallest among the contestants with his height of 6’3″.

Aside from being the grand winner, he also got the Best in Formal Wear major award. He didn’t get the Best in Swimwear award (which went to Spain) but, in my opinion, he also deserved that one.

It’s just that there were eight contestants and eight combined minor and major awards. Each contestant got one award, no more, no less. So I think the awards were just distributed among them so no one goes home empty handed.

I really had the strong feeling that Erik would win. He was the best looking contestant (IMO), the tallest, and the most articulate. His win was well justified, and no one could accuse the org of having a favorite just because the pageant’s owner is a Filipino.

Vietnam’s Huynh Vo Hoang Son was named first runner-up. He also won the Best in National Costume award.

Spain’s Jose Merida Moyano was second runner-up.
