While it topped the trending topics on Twitter in the Philippines during its pilot episode on Monday (July 30, 2018), GMA-7’s Victor Magtanggol failed to beat its rival program, ABS-CBN’s Ang Probinsyano, in the Kantar Media television ratings.
The Kapuso series only got 20% in Kantar Media’s national TV ratings versus the Kapamilya program’s 42.4%.
It also only got 17.2% in the rural ratings while the Coco Martin-starrer scored 47.8%.
Starring Alden Richards, the much-hyped pilot episode of Victor Magtanggol showed the viewers the background story of where the would-be superhero’s magical weapon (a hammer) comes from.
Those who watched the fantaserye‘s first episode were treated to a computer generated story that involved characters from the Norse mythology.
And yes, the hammer is that of Thor’s.
Will Victor Magtanggol‘s rating improve over time and be able to beat Ang Probinsyano?
That, for sure, is something interesting to find out.
